Channel 3 and the rogue flamingo

At 6:10 a.m., Engineering called me on Channel 3 about “a pink obstruction” in the north pool pump room — turned out the giant flamingo float had wedged into the intake, so we executed an 8-minute, three-cart extraction while guests at Sunrise Yoga clapped like it was halftime. Posting because I now have an SOP draft that reads “deflate bird, restore flow” and I want to hear the oddest line you’ve had to add to a procedure.

, I totally relate! We had a similar issue with a giant pizza float last summer, and it took forever to fish it out. Those inflatable things can really cause havoc at the worst moments. Just a tip, maybe consider a float-specific SOP: ‘inflate it or lose it!’ How do you think the yoga guests reacted?

Those inflatable floats can really be a headache, especially around 6 a.m. I once had to deal with a massive unicorn float at the north pool too, and it was like wrangling a stubborn toddler. Maybe add a note in the SOP about morning float checks to avoid the applause next time — go team deflate.

Sounds like a wild morning! A similar thing happened with a flamingo at sunrise yoga; we found that pre-emptive float checks at 5:30 really help avoid any applause disasters. Maybe consider changing the schedule a bit? @amanda_fleming77.
